New 'Ghostbusters' Film Finds Scribes 5 Sep 2008 07:19 AM

Ghostbusters.jpgA planned third installment in the popular Ghostbusters franchise has now found a pair of writers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (The Office) are going to take a stab at reinvigorating the series. The stars of the film, as well as director Ivan Reitman, are aware of the project but there is no word yet on which ones will become involved. Stupnitsky and Eisenberg recently penned Year One, which is directed by Harold Ramis.

denzel_washington1_300_400.jpgDenzel Washington is joining forces with Albert and Allen Hughes (From Hell, Dead Presidents) for Book of Eli, according to Variety. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which Washington's character must travel across America to provide the knowledge needed to achieve redemption. The actor recently finished shooting Taking of the Pelham 123 for director Tony Scott, which also stars John Travolta and James Gandolfini. Book will be distributed by Warner Bros. and it's being financed by Alcon Entertainment.

paulwalker.jpgPaul Walker and Hayden Christensen are teaming up to star in the crime thriller Bone Deep, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The two young thesps join the already cast Matt Dillon, Chris Brown and T.I. in the film which is being directed by John Luessenhop (2000's Lockdown). Walker will be seen next summer alongside Vin Diesel in Fast and Furious, while Christensen is featured in both New York, I Love You and Beast of Bataan.

In his upcoming autobiography, titled "A Promise to Ourselves: A Journey Through Fatherhood and Divorce," Alec Baldwin reveals that he contemplated suicide after a tape was released in which he berated his 11-year-old daughter. According to Showbiz Spy, Baldwin decided to seek treatment instead of going down a darker path.
