According to weekend estimates, The Dark Knight has grossed another $75.6 million and now has a total haul of $314 million. By crossing the $300 million milestone in only 10 days, Knight becomes the fastest movie of all-time to do so. The previous record holder was 2006's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which did it in 16 days. Once again, here is the list of records that The Dark Knight has claimed: #1 - Biggest seven-day gross with $238.6 million (which beat 2006's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which had grossed $196 million during the same time frame).

The film, which marked what seemed to be Ferrell's 1,757th entry into the sports-spoof genre, was able to gross only $33.47 million domestically. Considering that Ferrell's star turn in the less commercially-accessible Stranger Than Fiction was able to bring in $40.4 million, Semi-Pro was viewed as a disappointment.

Opening on 2,976 screens, Mamma Mia! brought in $27,751,240 which barely bests the previous record holder, 2007's Hairspray, which brought in $27,476,745 during its opening frame. Estimates had placed Mamma Mia! ahead of Hairspray by less than $200,000. Hairspray was able to gross $118.8 million during its domestic theatrical run and it crossed the $200 million mark worldwide.
