BOX OFFICE ACTUALS: 'Die Hard' Narrowly Outdoes 'Beautiful Creatures,' 'Red Dawn' Sinks
on March 06, 2013
As predicted, Bruce Willis continued to conquer the Brazilian charts as A Good Day to Die Hard clung to #1 for the second week in a row. But the teen witch romance Beautiful Creatures was right at its heels with a respectable $1.3 million debut and a slightly higher per-screen average. The highest per-screen of the week was 4th place contender Silver Linings Playbook, which pulled in $3,363 per-screen in its fifth week in theaters. More than a month into their releases, it and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters managed to fend off low-batting newcomers Buddies and Red Dawn, which had to settle for 7th and 9th on the Brazilian box office.
