BRAZIL: 'The Smurfs 2' Leads the Weekend

The Smurfs 2 took the top spot in Brazil with a $4.4 million opening
weekend, a significant notch below the $6.9 million opening of its predecessor.
Wolverine fell 38% in its first hold to post a $3.4 million weekend,
taking its cume to $13.1 million. Despicable Me 2 added another million
over the weekend to reach a $33.5 million total, making it the highest grossing
film in release.
Red 2 couldn't hit the million mark through 380 locations, earning a $2,506 average in its $957 k debut. The weekend's most significant milestone came from domestic comedy Minha Mae E Uma Peca, which crossed the $20 million mark in its seventh week.
