'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' Opens 76% Ahead of the Original in Brazil with $10.5M Bow on May 04, 2014

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 took a $10.5 million opening in Brazil, a 76% improvement over the debut of its immediate predecessor. The Spidey sequel ran away with the #1 spot in Brazil as it looks to improve upon its grosses across the board in order to top the previous installment’s $758 million global total. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has grossed a total of $377 million worldwide after three weeks of release, including this weekend’s $92 million opening from North America.

'Noah' Nears $30M Mark in Brazil on May 04, 2014

noahmovie.jpgNoah sailed to a $6.6 million take from 3,908 locations in 54 territories during its 7th weekend of release overseas. The Biblical epic has now grossed a total of $233.4 million outside of North America and $332.4 million worldwide. Brazil continues to hold strong for Darren Aronofsky’s latest, contributing $1.7 million from 393 cinemas –a 16% dip in its fifth frame- to finish third in the market and reach a $29.6 million local cume.

'Captain America 2' Continues to Lead in Brazil, Passes $20M Mark Ahead of 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Release on April 30, 2014

capamerica.jpgCaptain America: The Winter Soldier surpassed the $20 million mark in Brazil after claiming the top spot for another weekend with a $3 million take. The film's total in Brazil stands at $21.6 million ahead of the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Noah continues its strong run in Brazil with another $1.8 million weekend. The Biblical epic is Paramount's highest grosser of all time in the market. Noah has grossed a total of $27.1 million in Brazil.

Rio 2 added $1.1 million as it commemorated a full month of release in Brazil. The animated sequel has grossed a total o f$25.3 million in the market.

Divergent stumbled down to fourth place in its first hold-over frame, grossing $1 million over the weekend to take its total in Brazil to $4.1 million.

'Rio 2' Soars Above $25M on April 27, 2014

rio2.pngRio 2 brought in another $1.1 million in its fifth week of release across 749 screens in Brazil. The animated sequel has enjoyed big success in Brazil, where it has already grossed $25.2 million. Rio 2 is Fox’s sixth highest grossing release of all time in the market.
