BOX OFFICE: 'Skyfall' Leads; 'Lost in Thailand' Still Trails 'Avatar'; 'Gone' Flops

Entgroup reports that as of January 27, Skyfall is up to $34.5 million in China. The spy film was able to overshadow The Mythical Ark: Adventures in Love and Happiness, a Chinese animated flick that opened in second with $9.8 million from January 21-27.
Lost in Thailand is running out of steam even though it's so close to topping Avatar's $203. 8 million record-setting haul in China. The comedy grabbed $1.4 million this past week, pushing its total to $197.4 million.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Gone, an American thriller starring Amanda Seyfried, managed only $630K in three days. Gone grossed only $11.7 million in North America last February.
The past week's box office total was $387.6 million, a 34% increase over the previous week and an 18% increase over the same week last year.
