Warner Bros. reports that We're the Millers lifted another $3.17 million on Wednesday, representing a 24 percent decline from Tuesday. The sleeper hit has tallied an impressive $48.79 million in its first eight days and appears headed for a strong second weekend hold. Millers is running 4.1 percent ahead of Tropic Thunder at the same point.

Sony/TriStar's Elysium tacked on $2.72 million to its haul on Wednesday. Declining 31 percent from Tuesday's gross, the sci-fi pic from Neill Blomkamp is off 21.8 percent from the six-day total of his 2009 breakout, District 9. Elysium has banked $39.87 million since opening last Friday.

Disney's Planes was off 31 percent from Tuesday for $2.135 million bagged on Wednesday. The flick's six-day tally stands at $29.94 million--11.2 percent behind Turbo and 62.8 percent ahead of 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars through the same points. Although the film is a financial success for Disney, it appears to have been somewhat front-loaded for an animated movie.

That's a sharp 71.3 percent drop from its modest opening day last week and marks a $29.12 million total after eight days in release.
