INDIA: 'Besharam' Takes $4M in First Two Days on October 04, 2013
The romantic comedy Besharam is off to a good start in India, where it leads the weekly box office chart among domestic films after a $4 million bow over its first two days in release. The Lunchbox finished its second week in second place with a $1.2 million hold that lifts it to a $2.9 million cume.
Grand Masti slowed down to a $1.1 million ale over its third week, taking its total to $14.9 million in the country. Phata Poster Nikhla Hero posted a $1 million tally in its first hold for a $5.7 million total.

Phata Poster Nikla Hero was released in 94 locations in North America this weekend and grossed $260,188.
Satyagraha is closing up its run in North America, adding $5,359 over its fourth weekend in 9 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The film has grossed a total of $736,826 in its North American run.
Chennai Express will go down as one of the most successful Indian exports at the North American box office. The blockbuster film has grossed a total of $5.29 million in North America. Chennai Express played in 20 locations over the weekend and grossed $21,853.

Suddh Desi Romance fell to second place in its second week, adding $1.3 million to its tally. The Indian cume for the film is now $7 million. Shudd Desi Romance is playing in a market-leading 1,888 screens.
Horror Story saw a positive $711k debut from 895 screens, while John Day saw a limited release in 456 theaters where it grossed $245k.
Satyagraha closed in on the $10 million mark with a $234k take in its third week. The film should reach the milestone in the coming week. Chennai Express is still enjoying its blockbuster run after six weeks in release. Chennai Express has grossed a total of $35 million from India.
