Dhoom 3 took in a total of $58 million over its first full week of release at the global box office, setting the record for biggest opening week take of all time for a Bollywood release.
A $40.95 million opening week tally in India combined with a superb $17.02 million from the rest of the world to set the new record at $57.97 million.

Dhoom 3 broke the box office record for the biggest opening day of a Bollywood release in North America with an astounding $1.075 million bow from 236 theaters. The previous record holder, Chennai Express, was unable to break the million-dollar mark in its debut with a $745k opening day. Dhoom 3 is therefore the first Indian film to ever take a $1 million opening day in North America.
Dhoom 3 broke the same record in the United Arab Emirates with a $1.279 million opening day. The U.K. posted a $400k debut to becoming the highest non festival/holiday opener. Dhoom 3 enjoyed the highest opening day of all time for any film in Pakistan with $210k. The film broke the opening day record for a Bollywood release in Australia with a $172k bow, more than doubling previous record holder Jab Tak Hai Jaan's $77k debut.
Dhoom 3 was released day-and-date in India and 45 other territories aorund the world. An additional 10 territories will be added in 2014.
Dhoom 3 is set to receive the widest opening of all time for a Bollywood film in North America. The superhero film starring Aamir Khan is set to debut across 236 screens across the United States and Canada on December 20.
