INDIA: 'Chennai Express' Rolls Along in Third Week on August 30, 2013

 

Chennai Express continues its record-breaking run at the Indian box office. Its three week run in India has brought in a total of $31.9 million, a figure that grows to $48.4 million worldwide. Chennai Express has grossed $4.8 million leading into its fourth weekend in North America. The United Arab Emirates are posting a $4.2 million total for the film, while the U.K. reports a $3.2 million gross.

 

Madras Cafe opened in first place last week, grossing $4.6 million despite a $2.5 million hold from Channai Express. Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! fell two spots to third place in its second frame, reaching an $8.3 million cue in india. Sports biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag showed it still has legs in its seventh week, posting a fourth place finish and reaching a $16.4 million domestic cume.
