Adult Actress Sunny Leone Leads the Indian Box Office with 'Ragini MMS 2' on March 28, 2014

RMMS2.jpgRagini MMS 2 took the top spot at the indian box office with a commanding performance in its opening frame. The genre flick led the box office with a $6 million haul in its opening frame, overshadowing all other releases in the market with 71% of the Top 10 market share. Ragini MMS 2 is the latest installment in a Bollywood horror series and stars former adult actress Sunny Leone. Indian audiences have often been generalized as a conservative group, but the success of Ragini MMS 2 suggests there are more diversified audience demographics in the market.

INDIA: 'Queen' Stays On Top on March 21, 2014

queenstill.pngQueen kept the top spot in India for a second consecutive week after grossing $3 million from 795 theaters. The film is now up to $6 million in the market. New release Bewakoofiyaan opened in 1,461 screens but couldn't capture a strong momentum, finishing its opening frame in second place with a $1.8 million haul.

INDIA: 'Queen' Leads Domestic Chart on March 14, 2014

Queen took a first place opening in India, earning $2.97 million from 827 screens. Fellow opener Gulaab Gang only managed a $1.5 million bow despite playing in nearly twice the number of screens as Queen.

Total Siyapaa finished in third among the week's new releases with $910k. The three new releases relegated Shaadi Ke Side Effects to fourth place with a $842k tally. Shaadi Ke Side Effects has grossed $5.7 million in India and is reporting a $900k total heading into its third weekend in North America.
