'D-Day,' 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' Box Office Recap on July 22, 2013

Both D-Day and Ramaiya Vastavaiya were released this past Friday in India, with both films posting a respectable performance at the box office,OneIndia Entertainment reports. Ramaiya Vastavaiya grossed 15.30 crore during the weekend, while D-Day collected 13.69 crore.

INDIA: Spots Biopic 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is a Hit on July 19, 2013

bmbstill.jpgBhaag Milkha Bhaag opened in 1,450 screens this week to earn a total of $8.9 million in its Indian debut. The sports biopic shared a similar screencount to Policegiri's second week in the market, but there was no question which film audiences preferred. Policegiri finished in third place on the chart with a $472k gross that takes its cumulative total to $2.7 million. Lootera placed second on the chart with a $614k weekly gross and a $4.3 million total.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Next Film Announced on July 19, 2013

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the director of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, has announced that his next film will be a mythological thriller titled Raja and the Legend of the Flute (Raja Aur Krishna Ki Bansuri) A source states, "This is a film that Mehra had in mind for years. It is his dream project. He wanted to make it even before he started with Bhaag Milkha. The film was earlier titled Paanch Kaurav. It is a mythical thriller centred on a hunt for Krishna's flute and has an expensive larger-than-life set up," The movie will be simultaneously filmed in English and Hindi.
