Tuesday (6/5) Update: Sony reports that Men in Black 3 banked $398.8 million worldwide heading into today, which means the sci-fi flick will reach the $400 million worldwide plateau today.

Monday (5/28) Update: Sony's estimate is still $202 million worldwide over four days for Men in Black 3.

Sunday Update: Sony reports that Men in Black 3 will reach $202 million worldwide by the end of Monday. The studio estimates that $70 million of that will come from North America. MiB3 is currently playing in 106 territories and it's the #1 film in 104 of them.

Saturday Update: Men in Black 3 rebounded from a weak midnight gross by bringing in a solid $18 million on Friday. We're project $57 from Fri-Sun and $72 million from Fri-Mon.

Chernobyl Diaries took in a modest $3.5 million on Friday. We're projecting $9.2 million for Fri-Sun and $10.8 million for Fri-Mon.

Friday Update: Men in Black 3 was able to take in a modest $1.550 million from midnight shows. That's an underwhelming debut for such an established property and it certainly doesn't bode well for the four-day weekend.

Comparable midnight openings include Clash of the Titans with $1.545 million and Bruno with $1.6 million.

Chernobyl Diaries, the low-budget horror flick that's opening in the shadow on MiB3, took in $525,000.

Does this mean that "MIB 3" might have a more difficult time dethroning "The Avengers" than originally thought?
