'A Good Day to Die Hard' Holds Tight to #1
on March 04, 2013
A Good Day to Die Hard successfully fended off Beautiful Creatures to stay at the top of the Brazilian box office for the second weekend in a row. The Bruce Willis actioner is pegged to have made $1.36 million over the weekend, bringing its total haul up to $4.86 million since its February 22nd release. The teen fantasy romance Beautiful Creatures made a strong showing, however, with a projected $1.27 take, and it actually narrowly beat Die Hard in its per-screen draw with an average of $2,771 per screen to Die Hard's $2,692. Yet the highest per-screen haul appears to be the Fox Searchlight biopic Hitchcock, which made an average estimate of $3,630 per screen -- respectable, yet with a small enough run that the film entered the charts only at #10 with a total box office of $170K.
