New Poster and Trailer Released for Brazilian Punk Biopic 'We're So Young'
on March 29, 2013
On the 17th anniversary of punk rock singer Renato Russo's death, the filmmakers behind his biopic We're So Young, have leaked the film's poster and a one-minute clip of lead actor Thiago Mendonça singing one of Russo's most famous songs, "Generation Coca-Cola." The biopic is promoting the twist that Mendonça is live-singing and recording Russo's music in a concert-like performance atmosphere to give them the high-energy feel of the small, live concerts that made Russo famous in Brazil before he died at 36 of complications from AIDS. The film follows in the wake of the similar 2004 punk biopic Cazuza: Time Don't Stop, which was a significant box office success. We're So Young will be released in Brazil on May 4.
