domesticindiaboxoffice.jpgYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani continues to be a massive success in India, adding another $8 million in its second week to reach a $26.5 million total in its home country. The popular Bollywood romantic comedy is also a big hit abroad, falling just shy of breaking the top ten in the United Kingdom last weekend with a $272,992 take from 62 locations. The U.K. per-screen average of $4,403 was the fourth best among films in that market. The film was the strongest hold-over in the market when it came to packing theaters; the Bollywood picture only trailed premieres from After Earth, Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra, and The Stone Roses: Made of Stone in per-screen average. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has grossed $1.2 million in the United Kingdom. North America has also been bountiful for the film as well, accounting for an additional $3 million take. That brings the global total of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to fantastic $31.4 million cume.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani went head-to-head against the premiere of Tamla Pagla Deewana 2, sharing a similar screen count heading into the weekend. Tamla Pagla Deewana 2 grossed a total of $4.7 million in its domestic debut.

Shootout at Wadala reached a $712k overseas total, with $369k of that figure coming from North America. Its sturdy performance after six weeks in India has brought in $9.4 million for the Bollywood film. The global total for the sequel has now surpassed the $10 million mark.

Go Goa Gone reached a $4.3 million cume in India, seeing its global total reach $4.7 million after its third weekend in North America brought in an additional $3k to its overseas total.

More North American releases are in store for Indian films, as Fukrey will be premiering in 60 screens across the U.S. and Canada this weekend.
