'Now You See Me' Scores $8M Debut
on October 14, 2013
Now You See Me received a late bump in its overseas box office with an $8 million debut from approximately 4,400 Chinese screens. The magic caper film has been one of the year's biggest success stories after grossing $333 million worldwide on a $105 million budget. The $8 million debut in China improves upon The Lone Ranger's premiere in the same market last weekend. Disney's troubled Western went on to gross $2.4 million in its first hold-over weekend. Now You See Me will premiere in Japan, its final market, on October 25.
