'Prometheus' Snags $50 Million Debut on June 10, 2012

Sunday Update: 20th Century Fox estimates that Prometheus' debut haul is $50 million.

Saturday Update: 20th Century Fox reports that Prometheus took in a healthy $21.4 million on Friday. We're projecting $53.5 million for the weekend.

Friday Update: 20th Century Fox reports that Promethus took in $3,561 million from midnight shows at 1,368 North American locations for a location average of $2,603.

Comparable midnight openings include Avatar ($3.537 million), TRON: Legacy ($3.5 million) and X-Men: First Class ($3.37 million). Avatar opened to $77 million; TRON: Legacy did $44 million; X-Men: First Class grabbed $55 million.

Jackson, the film will be released by The Weinstein Company in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day 2012.

WARNER BROS. PICTURES INTERNATIONAL AND FOX INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCE FORMATION OF NEW JOINT OPERATION IN BRAZIL on June 05, 2012

LOS ANGELES -- Twentieth Century Fox International Theatrical (Fox International) and Warner Bros. Pictures International today announced the creation of a joint operation between their local companies in Brazil to distribute and market their respective film slates and cultivate new opportunities for high quality entertainment in this rapidly emerging market. The announcement was made by Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros Pictures, and by Paul Hanneman and Tomas Jegeus, co-presidents of Fox International.
Fox and Warner Bros. will remain separate legal entities in Brazil but will share their resources through the joint operation, called Fox-Warner, to maximize the potential of the country's growing economy. Fox-Warner will commence operations immediately, integrating the talents and investments of these two successful businesses. Patricia Kamitsuji, currently General Manager of Fox Brazil, will serve as Managing Director of Fox-Warner.
