Robert Pattinson Joins 'Queen of the Desert' on August 14, 2012

Variety announced today that Robert Pattinson will be joining Naomi Watts in the upcoming Gertrude Bell biopic, Queen of the Desert. Pattinson will portray T.E. Lawrence in the Werner Herzog-helmed film.

UPDATED: 'The Bourne Legacy' Hits $97.7 Million Worldwide on August 12, 2012

Sunday (8/19) Update: Universal reports that The Bourne Legacy grossed $18.2 million from 2,042 locations in 18 territories this weekend.  The international total now stands at $28.1 million, although the sequel still has 45 territories remaining to open in.

The worldwide cume is an estimated $97.7 million through Sunday.

Sunday (8/12): Universal reports that The Bourne Legacy is off to a decent start worldwide. The action flick roped in $40.3 million domestically and another $7.8 million from 694 locations in 13 territories. The Bourne Legacy has big shoes to fill internationally considering that The Bourne Ultimatum made more than $215 million back in

Key international stats from Universal:

• The Philippines is the top opener at No. 1 with $2.7M at 130 dates - the biggest opening ever for Universal in this market.
• Singapore opened No. 1 with a very strong $1.4M at 26 dates.
• Taiwan opened No. 2 with a very good $1.2M at 67 dates.

Over the next few months the film will open in major territories around the world. Next week, it opens in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Spain and the U.K. and Ireland.
