COLUMBUS, Ga. & DESTIN, Fla. -- Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC), a leading DIGITAL cinema and 3-D motion picture exhibitor, announced today that it will unveil its newest entertainment complex at Grand Boulevard located at the entrance of the 2,400-acre Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort, just east of Destin, between Panama City and Pensacola, Florida. Opening night will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Midnight. The new Carmike theatre, named the Boulevard 10, will feature ten screens with total seating for 1,800 and will be highlighted by a state-of-the-art "BIGD" auditorium and Ovation Dining Club, Carmike's premium theatre environments. The grand opening of the Boulevard 10 will feature a selection of Hollywood's latest movies, including the special debut Midnight presentation of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."

Recent Carmike Florida expansion took place along the Space Coast in Melbourne and Port St. Lucie and along the Emerald Coast in Pensacola with the acquisition of four theatres from Rave Motion Pictures. Carmike has had a significant presence in Panama City and Pensacola for many years.

The entertainment complex is equipped with auditoriums featuring state-of-the-art stadium style seating, with comfortable high back luxury chairs, retractable armrests and convenient cup holders. The Carmike Boulevard 10 also contains large, wall-to-wall screens, as well as DLP DIGITAL projection and DIGITAL sound. The new theatre has an upscale lobby, multiple concession areas featuring Coca-Cola Freestyle drink centers and an indoor box office, so filmgoers can escape the elements.
The "BIGD" auditorium includes a wall-to-wall screen measuring 60 feet wide and nearly three stories tall, the latest in surround sound and DIGITAL projection of both 2-D and 3-D features. In technical terms, Carmike's "BIGD" DIGITAL experience is powered by a Christie Brilliant 3-D flash projector. The end result is a light output of 30,000 lumens, creating a picture quality with noticeably higher resolution than HD.
To further enhance the experience, the custom QSC DIGITAL audio system is tuned to a 7.1 speaker array with 16 channels and the ability to upgrade to 11.1, a revolution in surround sound technology with DIGITAL audio processing supported by quad-amplified, 4-way speakers and 21-inch subwoofers. CinemaCon, the largest and most important convention for the motion picture theatre industry, will be held from April 15-18, 2013 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas at which time more than 5,000 industry members will be gathering. Butterfield will be presented with this special honor at the "CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards" ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 18, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.
"With a stunning turn in the title role of ‘Hugo,' Butterfield has already proven himself as one to watch in Hollywood," noted Neuhauser. Disney's Oz: The Great and Powerful continues down the road to success, posting an overseas weekend estimate of $46.6 million, bringing its overseas cume to $136.8 million and its global total to $281.8 million. Oz is currently playing in 55 territories, already covering 85% of the global market. The film is poised to continue its success with a March 29 release date in China.
A strong Chinese opening weekend of $15.7 million helped A Good Day to Die Hard gross an estimated $20.4 million overseas this weekend. The film is alive and well overseas with a $201.3 million total and a $265.6 million global cume. A Good Day to Die Hard opens in Australia next week.
Jack the Giant Slayer grows to a $35.2 million overseas cume after earning $10.2 million in 25 territories this weekend. The global total is $85.8 million with a number of key markets in the horizon over the next couple of weeks.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters overseas cume reaches $151.2 million thanks to a $6.2 million weekend in 42 markets. The film fared especially well in Austria and Germany, which combined to make up over a third of the weekend's overseas gross. The global cume is now at $205.7 million. Hansel and Gretel is the top film at the Austrian box office for the third consecutive week.
Anna Karenina rolled out in several Latin American markets this weekend. The new exposure helped the film reach a milestone with a $51.8 overseas cume and bringing its global total to $63.9 million. Next week's release in South Korea can help the film reach higher numbers.
Identity Thief continues its scaled overseas roll-out with a $3.2 million overseas cume. The comedy opens in Russia, Spain, and the U.K. next weekend with over 30 more territories to follow in the next three months. The global cume is $122.3 million.
Mama added $3.8 million to reach a $47.1 million overseas cume. Global total is $118.2 million. The thriller has already opened in 30 markets and has another 21 to go over the next couple of months. The film will open in the Czech Republic, Finland, and Italy next weekend.
Lincoln comes in with a $79.7 million overseas total after its opening weekend in South Korea, reaching a $260.7 million global cume. The Spielberg film opens in Thailand next weekend.
Flight stays up with a $68 million overseas cume. The global total is $161.7 million.
Life of Pi continues its international run with a $482.7 million total and $602.7 global total.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey made $1.46 million overseas this weekend. The film now has an overseas total of $711.5 million and a global total of $1.013 billion.
Les Miserables made an estimated $3.1 million overseas this weekend. That brings the film to a $281.2 million overseas total and $429.7 million global cume. The musical is set to open in Denmark next week and add three Latin American markets to its release over the next month.
This is 40 inched along to a $16.8 million overseas total. The film has now grossed $84.3 million globally. The Judd Apatow comedy opens in Colombia, Sweden, and Turkey next week.
Ted has an overseas cume of $328.6 million and a $527.2 million global cume.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA -- Colin Trevorrow has signed on to direct Jurassic Park 4, the highly-anticipated fourth installment of the blockbuster franchise that has grossed $1.9 billion at worldwide box office since the first film was released in 1993.
The Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment production will be produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley with Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer. The script was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes).
Trevorrow directed Safety Not Guaranteed for FilmDistrict and Big Beach Films starring Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass and Jake Johnson. The critically-acclaimed film debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival where screenwriter Derek Connolly won the prestigious Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award. The film also won Best First Screenplay at this year's Independent Spirit Awards, where Trevorrow was nominated for Best First Feature.
Universal will release Jurassic Park in 3D on April 5. Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. Following that, Pine will star in "Jack Ryan" for Paramount Pictures, in which he will play the film's title character, based on bestselling author Tom Clancy's popular action hero. The film also stars Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner, and will open in theaters December 25, 2013.

His most recent film credits include DreamWorks Animation's "Rise of the Guardians," Touchstone Pictures' drama "People Like Us," and the 20th Century Fox action-comedy "This Means War."
