FANDANGO SURVEY UNMASKS “THE AVENGERS” AS THE MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF THE SUMMER on April 17, 2012

LOS ANGELES -- Fandango, the nation's leading moviegoer destination, today revealed the results of its "Most Anticipated Summer Movie Survey," in which Marvel's "The Avengers" grabbed the top spot among all films picked by both men and women. The poll - which surveyed thousands of moviegoers on their must-see list for the biggest movie season of the year - also revealed that this may be a huge summer for Australian newcomer Chris Hemsworth, who stars in two of the summer's most anticipated releases.

Male and female moviegoers offer a decidedly different perspective on the can't-miss films of the summer. While women gravitated to the revisionist Kristen Stewart fairy tale drama, "Snow White and the Huntsman," men stuck to their guns with action adventures -- like "The Avengers" and "The Dark Knight Rises," which ranked number one and two on the most anticipated summer movie list.

"It's clear from the Fandango survey that there's something for both men and women at the movies this summer," says Fandango Editor-in-Chief Chuck Walton. "After an incredible first quarter, Hollywood is delivering even more spectacular choices for moviegoers in what's shaping up to be one of the biggest summers in years. As our survey indicates, all eyes will be on Chris Hemsworth. The Australian heartthrob, who stars as ‘Thor' in ‘The Avengers,' and as the male lead in ‘Snow White and The Huntsman', sits atop both the men's and women's ‘Most Anticipated' lists."

According to Fandango moviegoers, below are the top picks among men and women:

Men's Picks for Most Anticipated Summer Movie:
1. "The Avengers" 31%
2. "The Dark Knight Rises" 23%
3. "The Bourne Legacy" 14%
4. "Men in Black 3" 8%
5. "Prometheus" 7%

Women's Picks for Most Anticipated Summer Movie:
1. "Snow White and the Huntsman" 22%
2. "The Avengers" 16%
3. "Men in Black 3" 13%
4. "The Dark Knight Rises" 10%
5. "Dark Shadows" 8%

Fandango is geared up for the summer, the busiest moviegoing season of the year, on the heels of its most successful first quarter in the company's nearly 12-year history. As Fandango's ticket sales surged 127% over last year, the company also partnered with AMC Theatres, Regency Theatres and other chains to expand its theater network reach by 19%. The quarter also included Fandango's newly-signed ticketing deal with Yahoo, and the launch of Fandango's enormously popular Facebook Timeline app, "Movies with Friends."

JEREMY RENNER TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® MALE STAR OF THE YEAR AWARD” on April 12, 2012

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Two-time Academy Award® nominee Jeremy Renner will receive the "CinemaCon Male Star of the Year," it was announced today by the convention's managing director, Mitch Neuhauser. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), the largest and most important gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world, will be held April 23 - 26, 2012, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Renner will be presented with this special honor at the "CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards" ceremony to take place on Thursday evening, April 26, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night's gala awards program.

"With his quiet and explosive intensity, Jeremy Renner has been entertaining audiences for a long time. However, it was his incredible performance in the Academy Award®-winning 'The Hurt Locker' that truly catapulted him into the public eye as one of our most talented and gifted actors today," noted Neuhauser. "He was riveting in 'The Town,' mysterious yet forceful in 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol,' and audiences everywhere can't wait to see him take on the lead in the upcoming ‘The Bourne Legacy.' We are so pleased to be honoring such a deserving actor with ‘CinemaCon's 2012 Male Star of the Year.'"

Renner stars in two films this summer. On May 4, he portrays Hawkeye in Marvel Studios' "The Avengers," from director Joss Whedon. On August 3, Renner stars in Universal Pictures' "The Bourne Legacy," the next chapter of the hugely popular "Bourne" series. In this latest installment, writer/director Tony Gilroy expands the "Bourne" universe with an original story that introduces us to a new hero whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. Joining Renner will be series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, along with franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn.

TAYLOR KITSCH TO RECEIVE THE “CINEMACON® MALE STAR OF TOMORROW AWARD” on April 11, 2012

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Taylor Kitsch will receive the "CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow Award," it was announced today by the convention's managing director, Mitch Neuhauser. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), the largest and most important gathering of cinema owners and operators from around the world, will be held April 23 - 26, 2012, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Kitsch will be presented with this special honor at the "CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards" ceremony that will take place on Thursday evening, April 26, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon, will host the final night gala awards program.

"Having impressed television audiences with his engrossing portrayal of a troubled Texas high-school fullback in ‘Friday Night Lights,' Kitsch continues to dive into each assigned role with an incredible passion that shines through in all of his work," said Neuhauser. "A talented young man with a bright future ahead of him entertaining moviegoing audiences around the world, I could not think of someone more fitting to be this year's ‘CinemaCon Male Star of Tomorrow.' We are honored to be able to present him with this award."

Kitsch will next be seen as Lt. Alex Hopper in this summer's "Battleship," which will be released on May 18 by Universal Pictures. Peter Berg ("Hancock," "The Kingdom," "Friday Night Lights") directs and produces this epic-scale action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. The film also stars Alexander Skarsgård, Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Tadanobu Asano and Liam Neeson.

Later this summer, Kitsch will be featured as a former Navy Seal and ex-mercenary in the new ferocious thriller from three-time Oscar® winner Oliver Stone, Universal's "Savages," which will be released on July 6. "Savages" features an all-star ensemble cast of Blake Lively, Aaron Johnson, John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir.

Most recently seen in Disney's live-action film "John Carter," Kitsch, who grew up in British Columbia, began his acting career in 2002, when he moved to New York to study with renowned acting coach Sheila Grey. Within a year, he landed his first major feature film role in "Snakes on a Plane," before landing a role on NBC's critically acclaimed sports drama "Friday Night Lights." Additional film credits include the horror flick "The Covenant," the sci-fi action-adventure "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and Steven Silver's "The Bang Bang Club."
