LOS ANGELES -- IMAX Corporation (NYSE:IMAX; TSX:IMX), Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, and Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that SKYFALLTM has grossed an estimated $12.75 million in 320 IMAX® theatres in North America, resulting in an IMAX per-screen average of approximately $40,000. SKYFALL's weekend gross marks IMAX's best-ever opening, exclusive of those occurring during the summer months. Overall, the film took in an estimated $87.8 million this weekend at the domestic box office, for a cumulative total of approximately $90 million since opening nationwide.
The 23rd chapter in the iconic James Bond film franchise also grossed an estimated $2.7 million in 127 IMAX theatres internationally this weekend, with totals from overseas IMAX theatres reaching approximately $14.5 million after 17 days of international release. In a number of these international markets, SKYFALL in IMAX ranked among the highest-grossing titles ever. As of end of day Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, the estimated IMAX global cumulative SKYFALL box office is $27.25 million. The film's overall global cume stands at $518.6 million.

The IMAX presentation of SKYFALL has been specially formatted to feature a larger aspect ratio than the conventional release for the entirety of the film. This aspect ratio, which is optimized to take advantage of the IMAX screen, allows audiences to see more of the image and result in a full panorama of the action - further immersing them into the vast scale and scope of the film.
The IMAX release of SKYFALL has been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
Argo is starting to gain serious momentum internationally. Warner Bros. estimates that Ben Affleck's latest directorial effort took in $12 million from 36 markets over the weekend, pushing its international total to $27.1 million. Domestically, Argo has earned $85.7 million. The Oscar-contender now boasts a worldwide total of $112.8 million.
Los Angeles, CA -- Cinedigm Entertainment Group, a division of Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM), has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to ARTHUR NEWMAN, one of most highly anticipated films at this year's Toronto Film Festival.
Colin Firth and Emily Blunt star in the touching story written by Academy Award® nominated screenwriter Becky Johnston ("Prince of Tides", "Seven Years in Tibet") and directed by Dante Ariola (Cannes Gold Lion winner, two-time DGA Directors nominee), making his feature film directorial debut. ARTHUR NEWMAN follows the mid-life travails of sad sack Wallace Avery (Firth). He hates his job, his ex-wife and son hate him, and he's blown his one shot at living his dream. Not wanting to face all this, he stages his own death and buys himself a new identity as Arthur Newman. However, Arthur's road trip towards a new life is interrupted by the arrival of the beautiful but fragile Mike (Blunt), who is also trying to leave her past behind. Drawn to one another, these two damaged souls begin to connect as they break into empty homes and take on the identities of the absent owners: elderly newlyweds, a high-roller and his Russian lady, among others. Through this process, Arthur and Mike discover that what they love most about each other are the identities they left at home, and their real journey, that of healing, begins.
The film is planned for a theatrical release in mid-2013, followed by on-demand, premium digital, DVD, and TV releases.
The film was produced by Vertebra Film's Mac Cappuccino and Cross Creek Pictures' Brian Oliver, with Alisa Tager and Becky Johnston. It was executive produced by Andy Cappuccino, Helen Cappuccino, Natalie G. Hill, James Holt, Lisa Bruce, and Eric Greenfeld.
