Screenvision and National Amusements Continue to Expand Alternative Content Offerings With the Release of 'Return to the Rafters'

NEW YORK, NY - Continuing the strategy to offer compelling alternative content programming that drives revenue during off-peak periods, Screenvision, a leading cinema advertising sales, services and content distribution company, and National Amusements will bring Return to the Rafters, exclusively to select National Amusements theaters., The film, about the Boston Celtics epic 2007-2008 championship season, it’s first in 22 years, will be featured at National Amusements Cinema de Lux and Showcase Cinema Theatres in Massachusetts and Rhode Island on October 27th at 7:30pm for a one time only event.

“Screenvision’s exhibitor partners are always looking for additional revenue streams and our compelling alternative content provides them with exactly that,” said Darryl Schaffer, executive vice president, exhibitor relations for Screenvision. “Return to the Rafters is an incredible sports documentary that has great potential on a regional basis and we look forward to working with National Amusements to promote it.”

Joe Amodei, President of Arts Alliance America, which handles the film’s DVD release and marketing, added, “We are allowing sports fans an evening where they can watch their heroes on the big screen. Celtics fans throughout the New England area will be able to go to their local movie theatre and root for their home team. The Celtics’ performances have become larger than life, and deserve to be seen in that capacity.”

Launched in 2007, Screenvision’s alternative content division has been able to provide exhibitors with a wide array of intriguing programming ranging from operas and sports, to documentaries and children’s films. Its presentations have included the film The Ballet Shoes, the documentary film UltraMarathon Man: 50 Marathons • 50 States • 50 Days, the La Scala opera series and its partnership with the New York Mets for Mets at the Movies. The division is able to develop programming strategies for both wide national releases as well as more localized and regional events presented through Screenvision’s High Definition digital network of more than 7,000 screens.

National Amusements is transforming the movie-going experience by offering exciting alternative entertainment experiences like Return to the Rafters. The first theatre circuit to feature live, high-definition sports broadcasting, National Amusements is expanding its programming with live comedy music and other forms of unique entertainment concepts.
