Berg May Board 'Battleship'

It appears that another board game is on its way to theatres, because Peter Berg is in talks to direct a film adaptation of the popular Hasbro game Battleship for Universal.

Berg's name is currently attached to several other directorial gigs, so the Battleship project may not happen for a couple of years.

Berg has established himself as a commercially viable director over the last several years, and the success of Hancock last summer only confirmed that. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the unorthodox superhero flick was able to grab $228 million domestically.

Interestingly enough, Ridley Scott is planning to direct a theatrical version of Monopoly and Michael Bay is set to produce a film based on the Ouija Board.
