Inglourious Basterds and Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino sat down with Italian television's "Parla con Me" and chatted briefly about his ideas for a third chapter in the ongoing Kill Bill saga.
Tarantino has spoken about a third chapter involving the daughter of Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) seeking The Bride out and trying to take revenge as far back as 2003, when he was promoting the first film in his kung-fu/spaghetti western homage. During "Parla con Me", he stated that he wanted to leave 10 years between the end of Kill Bill Vol. 2 and a third movie, both on-screen and off, to give both the character and actress Uma Thurman time to rest. "She deserves ten years of no fighting, ten years with her child BB. I put her through a lot in those two movies and I want her to have a nice peaceful life for ten years," he said, while still proclaiming, "The Bride [will] fight again!"
Inglourious Basterds has earned an impressive $114.9 million domestically to date. Previously, Inglourious Basterds was the director's long-in-development "next film", and since its completion Tarantino has yet to commit to a follow-up project. During the same interview, however, Tarantino said that the long-rumored Vega Brothers project, which would have teamed John Travolta's Pulp Fiction character with Michael Madsen's Reservoir Dogs character "would never happen".
