Joseph Wiseman, the actor best known for playing the James Bond villain Dr. No, died at his Manhattan home on Monday at the age of 91.

A Montreal native by birth, Wiseman starting acting as a teenager and was a veteran of both the big screen and the stage. His film roles include parts in Detective Story, The Unforgiven and Seize the Day, but his most recent major role was on Broadway in Judgment at Nuremberg. Wiseman's other Broadway credits include Antony and Cleopatra, Detective Story and Joan of Lorraine.

Dr. No, a 1962 film which earned over $59 million worldwide, introduced the world to Sean Connery as James Bond and also starred Ursula Andress. Wiseman, who was born in 1918, also acted alongside the likes of Robin Williams, Burt Lancaster and Robert Duvall.
