Universal is reporting that Robin Hood's international gross on its first day of release is $6 million. That comes from openings in France, Belgium and Switzerland and previews in 10 other markets including UK, Germany, Italy and Russia. The period pic is already playing at approximately 3,800 locations. On Friday, the film opens in 56 territories for a location count of 6,930. Only China, Japan and few other smaller markets have to wait until June to see Russell Crowe take on the iconic role.
BoxOffice.com is currently predicting a $36 million domestic opening weekend.
