NEW YORK -- The Cinema Advertising Council (CAC), a national non-profit trade association which serves cinema advertising sellers, the theatrical exhibition community and the advertising community, has announced that Screenvision SVP, National & Regional Sales, Suzanne La Forgia has been named to its Board of Directors. Additionally, Spotlight Cinema Networks President Jerry Rakfeldt has been elected to the CAC Board of Directors by the association's Level II members.
La Forgia, who will also serve as chairman and president of the CAC until the association's next election this fall, will represent CAC member Screenvision - a Level I member, i.e., one with selling rights to a network of 5000 or more movie screens in the U.S. Rakfeldt will represent CAC Level II members - those whose companies have selling rights to a network of less than 5000 movie screens in the U.S.
La Forgia is a media advertising sales executive with nearly 20 years of experience in creating and driving revenue growth. Prior to joining Screenvision, La Forgia served as EVP, advertising sales, for RMG Networks and was president of the Digital Place-based Advertising Association. She began her career selling for Home & Garden Television as part of the network's early launch team. La Forgia has also held positions at The Hotel Networks and Hallmark Channel.
Rakfeldt has over 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising and sales, including eight years in Asia where he first worked for Toyota Motor Corporation, and later supported Toyota's marketing efforts in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe while running a liaison office for the Saatchi & Saatchi Ad Agency in Tokyo. Upon returning to the U.S., Rakfeldt led the marketing for an Internet start-up and later served as COO of a Los Angeles-based advertising company. In 2007, he became the principal executive-in-charge of the Arthouse Marketing Group, the first company focused on a niche approach in the cinema advertising industry. Rakfeldt is now president of Spotlight Cinema Networks, a joint venture with Arthouse and Landmark Theatres.
They join returning board members Cliff Marks, a director representing CAC Level I member National CineMedia, where he holds the position of president, sales and marketing, and Stewart Harnell (president and CEO, Cinema Concepts), the CAC's director representing affiliate members.
