Christian Slater will star in Playback, an indie horror flick from producers John M. Bennett and Lawrence Robbins. The film follows a cop who uncovers a dark secret in a small town. Michael A. Nickles will serve as writer/director.

Slater has been maintaining steady work in television and the indie film circuit over the last several years. His most recent TV gig was on The Forgotten.

afterlifeprediction.pngAccording to Sony, Resident Evil: Afterlife was able to rake in a staggering $45.5 million internationally this weekend. Japan was the strongest territory with $14.5 million followed by Russia with $9.5 million and Spain with $3.4 million. The opening was more than twice as strong as Resident Evil: Extinction's overseas bow in 2007.

Resident Evil: Afterlife now boasts an estimated worldwide haul of $73.2 million.

Kansas City, Mo. (Sept. 10, 2010) - AMC Theatres® (AMC), a leading theatrical exhibition and entertainment company, announces that guests will be able to enjoy an enhanced dining and entertainment experience after converting part of the AMC Grapevine Mills 30 to Fork & Screen.

Fork & Screen is the name of AMC's in-theatre dining concept, featuring Fork & Screen, a casual, in-theatre dining and entertainment experience; Cinema SuitesTM, a premium, upscale in-theatre dining and entertainment option; and MacGuffinsTM, a bar and lounge area.

In order to convert 13 of the theatre's 30 auditoriums to the Fork & Screen model, the theatre has closed an entire wing. However, 17 auditoriums will remain open during construction. The new Fork & Screen wing is scheduled to open this winter.
