TORONTO, ON -- Cineplex Entertainment is pleased to announce plans to develop a new theatre at the Westshore Town Centre. Located at 2945 Jacklin Road in Langford, British Columbia and developed by Bentall LP on behalf of British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC), the new theatre is scheduled to open in the spring of 2011.
The 26,000 square foot Cineplex Odeon Westshore Cinemas will feature approximately 1,300 stadium seats and seven auditoriums. The theatre will also include our newest audio visual experience, UltraAVX, featuring a significantly larger screen than our traditional screens, a superb digital surround sound system utilizing the latest in Dolby digital sound technology, reserved seating and high back rocker seats.

All auditoriums will be equipped with Christie digital DLP projection systems that will project large, crystal clear images for every presentation. The theatre will also feature RealD 3D technology where guests will be able to enjoy a totally immersive 3D experience like no other. Each auditorium will include all-stadium seating and will offer ample legroom, wall-to-wall, giant, curved screens and digital surround sound.
Malin Akerman has signed on to star opposite Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux in WanderLust, a new comedy from writer/director David Wain (Role Models) and co-writer Ken Marino. The film follows a married couple (Rudd and Aniston) as they decide to join a hippie community.
Ackerman can currently be seen in The Romantics opposite Katie Holmes and Josh Duhamel.
Los Angeles, CA -- IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX; TSX: IMX) and Sony Pictures Releasing today announced that Resident Evil: Afterlife, the highly-anticipated fourth installment of the popular film series based on the video game, opened number one at the box office this weekend with 141 IMAX screens contributing $2.6 million of the film's $26.6 million overall domestic gross from 3200+ 2D and 3D screens for a domestic per screen average of approximately $18,500. Internationally, the IMAX release generated more than $1 million on 19 screens, with a per screen average of approximately $55,000. The global IMAX cume for the weekend was over $3.6 million, with a global per screen average of approximately $23,000.
