NEW YORK - The Cinema Advertising Council (CAC), today announced their new Executive Committee, with Michael Chico (executive vice president of sales and marketing for Screenvision) elected the new president and chairman, a position held most recently by Dave Kupiec (executive vice president of sales and marketing for National CineMedia). Mr. Kupiec will remain a CAC officer, elected as the association's new executive director, and both will be joined by Treasurer Bob Brouillette (SVP business development, National CineMedia), and Secretary Laura Adler, (president, A & G Marketing Group), who continue in their previous roles.

"I'm very excited to roll up my sleeves in partnership with all of our CAC member companies to continue the task of fully integrating cinema adverting into the mindset of media executives as they plan and execute their clients' brand strategies," said Mr. Chico. "Cinema has proven time and time again to be one of the best mediums for delivering the highest brand recall and is therefore a proven value. I'd also like to investigate new ways to directly involve agencies and clients as we continue to shape our industry and look to proliferate cinema advertising into new advertiser categories."

In his position with CAC member Screenvision, Mr. Chico is responsible for overseeing all of the company's national, regional and local sales across the United States, and is based in the company's New York City headquarters. He identifies and launches new product and service offerings and oversees Screenvision's overall sales and marketing strategy. Prior to joining Screenvision in August 2007, Mr. Chico was executive vice president of Advertising Sales for Madison Square Garden, Inc. A senior member of the company's management team, Mr. Chico was responsible for overseeing the MSG and Fox Sports networks, as well as signage, integrated marketing and naming rights for the theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theater. Mr. Chico was recently chosen for the "The 2009 Mediaweek 50" which showcases the top 50 go-to executives who drive innovation and success in the media industry.

Mr. Kupiec, an advertising veteran, heads the sales and marketing department at CAC member NCM, also based in New York City. He also works in tandem with Cliff Marks, President of Sales & Marketing, NCM, to develop and implement in-theater marketing programs in NCM-affiliated movie theaters nationwide. Prior to joining NCM in 2002, Mr. Kupiec served as publisher of Wenner Media's Men's Journal magazine. Previous, he was the ad director at Men's Fitness as well as marketing director of Conde Nast's Gourmet.

The Salah M. Hassanein Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens will honor Ted Cooper, Senior Vice President, Head Film Buyer for Regal Entertainment Group, as the recipient of its 58th Annual Humanitarian Award. Mr. Cooper will be feted with a special Tribute Journal, published in his honor, in time for the Holiday Season of 2009. All monies raised from this annual fundraiser will benefit the Salah M. Hassanein Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, a recreational and educational facility located in Astoria, Queens.

In making the announcement, Su Robotti, President of the Queens facility noted, "It is a great honor to pay tribute to such a caring and dedicated individual as Ted Cooper. Ted is one of the motion picture industry's true friends and a consummate professional who commands the respect and admiration of all who know him. It is an honor to bestow our 2009 Humanitarian Award upon him."

Ted Cooper has spent his entire career in the motion picture industry, starting out as an assistant theater manager in Philadelphia for General Cinema in 1976. Throughout his career he has distributed film for MGM, Twentieth Century Fox, Columbia Pictures and Paramount Pictures in the Philadelphia, Chicago, New York and Boston markets. Ted Cooper's true passion has always been that of Film Buying, where he first broke in with Fox Theatres in Reading, PA and then with United Artists Theatres in New York, Atlanta and Dallas.

Now residing in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he works for Regal Entertainment Group, Ted has managed the consolidation of Edwards Theatres, United Artists Theatres, Hoyts Cinemas, Consolidated Theatres, Eastern Federal Cinemas, Signature Theatres as well as several independent exhibitors and now oversees more than 7,000 screens across the United States.

In addition to serving as an officer for Variety of Eastern Tennessee and a Board Member of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. Ted has supported the Salah M. Hassanein Variety Boys and Girls Club for more than 25 years.

Upon being honored with the 2009 Humanitarian Award, Ted Cooper joins an elite group of former honorees including Chuck Viane, Michael Campbell, Jack Foley, Clark Woods, Jeff Blake, Erik Lomis, Bruce Snyder, Tom Sherak and the 2008 honoree, Sheila DeLoach.

NEW YORK - Kelly O'Connor, Senior Vice President Exhibitor and Marketing Services for Warner Bros., will receive the 2009 "Al Shapiro Distinguished Service Award", it was announced by ShowEast Managing Director, Robert Sunshine. The award presentation will take place at the Final Night Banquet hosted by The Coca-Cola Company on October 29, 2009 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

"I can't think of a more deserving individual in our industry to receive this award than Kelly", noted Robert Sunshine. "Kelly has risen through the ranks at Warner Bros. and is responsible for creating wonderful relationships between exhibition and Warner Bros. She is well liked and respected and continues to work for, and support, the industry."

During her 20 year tenure at Warner Bros., O'Connor helped create and shape the Exhibitor Services department for Domestic Theatrical Distribution. She has developed and implemented strategies and oversees coordination between exhibitors and the studio, including placement of trailers and advertising materials for Warner Bros. Pictures in theatres in the U.S. and Canada. She has been a tireless and imaginative leader in finding new ways to bring Warner Bros. films to the attention of theatergoers. She has also initiated marketing opportunities with exhibitors and has developed programs to reach every part of the Warner Bros. audience, while staying on the cutting edge of the rapidly changing exhibition business through her excellent relationships and outstanding work ethic.

In addition to her accomplishments at Warner Bros., O'Connor is as past board member of Variety The Children's Charity and is a present board member of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. In the past decade, she has used her passion for running to help raise over $35,000 for various charities.

The "Al Shapiro Distinguished Service Award" each year honors an executive who best represents the ideals and standards that the late Al Shapiro helped set during his distinguished career. It epitomizes his dedication, care and concern for the betterment of the motion picture industry. Last year Nancy Klueter, Vice President of Exhibitor Relations for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures received the "Al Shapiro Distinguished Service Award." Previous recipients include Scott Forman, Patricia Gonzalez, Bud Stone, John Lundin and Steve Bunnell.

ShowEast 2009 will take place from October 26-29, 2009 at the Orlando World Center Marriott. It will feature numerous screenings of upcoming major films, sponsored events, timely and informative seminars and the ShowEast Trade Show. An estimated 1,200 members of the motion picture industry are expected to attend. ShowEast, now in its 24th year, is produced by the Nielsen Film Group, a division of Nielsen Business Media.

MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM) (formerly AccessIT), the global leader in the digital cinema industry, today announced Georgia Theatre Company ("Georgia"), a Georgia -based cinema chain, will participate in Cinedigm's Phase 2 digital cinema deployment program. Georgia will purchase its own equipment and Cinedigm will manage the Virtual Print Fees (VPFs) for a ten-year term for 257 screens at 23 locations.

In Phase 2, Cinedigm has created an Exhibitor-Buyer financing option for exhibitors. When exhibitors choose this option, they select and purchase their own equipment and Cinedigm manages billing and collection of VPFs from movie distributors, receiving a fee for doing so. Exhibitors such as Georgia who select this option install Cinedigm Certified fully-networked digital cinema systems using one of the digital cinema equipment manufacturers with whom Cinedigm has agreements: Barco, Christie or NEC. Georgia will use Christie Digital Systems and Christie's Managed Services Division.
