Las Vegas, NV - MasterImage 3D, LLC, a 3D technology company that provides pioneering stereoscopic and autostereoscopic 3D systems, will introduce premium quality, multi-use glasses for their 3D digital cinema systems at the 2010 NAB Show. The environmentally friendly, high-performance glasses are fitted with the company's advanced, circular polarized lenses. The MasterImage glasses will be available to theater owners worldwide, May 2010, at a market setting list price of $5.00, per pair.

Supported by all six major studios, MasterImage has seen its theatrical market share rise 1200% during the past 18 months because it offers superior digital technologies, along with a cost-effective, ownership-based pricing model. The stylish, reusable glasses do not require batteries and complement the company's single-use offering.

"We are mindful of the environmental benefits afforded by reusable glasses and wanted to offer exhibitors options, so they can select the right product for their needs," said MasterImage's Peter Koplik. "With this new, market setting offer, Master Image will outfit theaters with multi-use glasses at less than one-fourth the cost of what competitors are charging for comparable alternatives."

MasterImage is exhibiting at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, in the 3D Pavilion, booth SL 4514G, April 12-15. There, the company will showcase the new glasses, along with its pioneering, autostereoscopic mobile display systems.

Total tweets for April 9th Openers

Date Night jumped to 912 tweets on Tuesday, up from 476 on Monday. By comparison, Couples Retreat had 938 tweets on its Tuesday before release. This increase was really in line and again lends credence to the validity of the comparison. Buzz has been pretty positive here which is a good sign but not significantly better than Couples. Really it is going to have a hard time seeing a ratio lower than 300, so unless it has a phenomenal Wednesday and Thursday it is going to have difficulty raking in more than $11 million come Friday.

Check back tomorrow to see the Wednesday number and early weekend predictions. Follow @AlexBOXOFFICE on Twitter for additional updates.

Twitter tracking history. (For 2009's ratio history please check here.)

alltweets040210.jpgThe ratio is the number of tweets per $1 million of Friday Box Office gross. A film with 1,000 tweets and a $10 million Friday would therefore have a ratio of 100. In general, films that appeal to very young or older audiences have lower ratios since those audiences are not big users of Twitter. By comparison, films that appeal to younger audiences (18-35) have much higher ratios since those audiences are much more active users of Twitter.

The Dreamgirls director has reportedly had several strong meetings with Summit concerning Breaking Dawn, which will be shot as two films. Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola and Fernando Meirelles have also allegedly been considered.

Each installment in the franchise has been directed by a different person. Catherine Hardwicke started in 2008, Chris Weitz directed New Moon and David Slade helmed Eclipse.

Eclipse opens on June 30, and that is a highly advantageous release date for a film that is aimed predominately at teens who will be off from school. Expect records to be broken.
