Christie will supply an assortment of Christie Solaria® One+ and Christie CP2220 projectors to the Cinemagic complexes, facilitated by Scrabble Entertainment, an international deployment entity whose financing of DCI-compliant digital cinema projector conversions helps all manner of cinemas make the move to digital technology.

CHICAGO -- NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today its fourth generation of video wall products, capable of delivering brilliant imagery to organizations deploying displays for 24 x 7 use in a variety of digital signage, corporate and broadcast video wall applications.
Like their predecessors, the 55-inch X554UNS, the 55-inch X554UN and the 46-inch X464UN are direct LED-backlight LCD displays, which allow for improved brightness uniformity, reduced power consumption and mercury-free components.
The UNS model now minimizes that distance to a mere 3.5mm while the UN displays have a bezel gap as low as 5.5mm. With DisplayPort 1.2 multi-streaming, they are capable of delivering ultra-high definition resolutions across the entire canvas of displays comprising the video walls.
In addition, Auto TileMatrix features allow a user to simply set up the size of the video wall on the first display and automatically scale the content through the remaining displays. With the press of a few buttons, the entire video wall is set up. The result is faster installation, which reduces costs and improves the customer experience.

CYPRESS, CA. - (March 3, 2014) - Christie® today announced upcoming demonstrations of the world's most advanced laser projection architecture and Dolby® 3D, to be held in the Christie Innovation Theaters throughout CinemaCon 2014 (Caesars Palace, March 24-27) and the National Association of Broadcasters NAB Show® (Las Vegas Convention Center, April 5-10). Christie DLP Cinema® laser projectors using 6-Primary (6P) color laser modules, earmarked for mass production in early 2015, will show how 3D light levels, image uniformity, viewing comfort, and a sense of immersion can be vastly improved, especially when combined with advanced separation technology like Dolby 3D, versus conventional 3D systems found in cinemas around the world today.
"Recent declines in domestic 3D movie attendance are a sign that the novelty is wearing off, with audiences less willing to pay a premium for what is all too often a mediocre experience. The lackluster quality of this experience results from a number of technical limitations with current 3D system architectures, the most serious one being restricted light levels that amount to only 10-30 percent of those levels achieved for 2D presentations," said Don Shaw, senior director, Product Management, Christie Entertainment Solutions. "Simply put, the movies are too dark, leaving audiences struggling to discern critical details that make up the image in front of them."

At least twice as efficient as today's best 3D systems, Christie's 6P laser projectors generate a proprietary mix of photoptically-optimized light wavelengths for each eye directly from the source, in effect eliminating the need for a highly inefficient stage of filtering or polarizing the light as it leaves the projector. The Christie demos will use Dolby® 3D glasses specifically engineered to exactly match the 6 primary laser light wavelengths to yield nearly 90 percent light efficiency. "Their color separation based technique for 3D is well regarded as the gold standard among industry professionals, especially for its true color reproduction, compatibility with low-gain white screens, and superior crosstalk performance - only now it can be part of a system that is tremendously more light efficient," said Shaw.

The CinemarrayTM is a new, fully scalable cinema sound system, designed to meet all requirements of current and future (Digital) Cinema sound formats and contents. The adjustable inter-cabinet splay-angles offer precise projection control, to direct the sound to the audience in such way that the audience in front and the audience in the back have exactly the same sound experience. In any size cinema theatre, in any seat in the room.
By implementing line-source technology throughout the entire system, the normal (-6dB step) reduction of SPL coverage from front to rear is reduced; this "proximity" effect (which sounds like the sound source is only meters away) dramatically improves the cinema experience for the audience further away from the screen. The driver arrangement of the CRA30 consists of a triple RBN401 pro-ribbon HF driver array, three vented 6.5" mid-range drivers and two vented 15" woofers with low power-compression 4" voice-coil design.
The CRA30 HF section performs from 1kHz. up to beyond 20kHz. with up to 90% less distortion than any conventional, compression-driver based system.
The stunning 2400W peak power input, offers a 1:16 uncompressed, virtually unlimited dynamic range with superb intelligibility, while enabling maximum screen compensations without any audible stress.
The absence of a "compression threshold" caters for the same tonal balance from the lowest to the highest sound pressure level, while the patented "Real-90" horizontal dispersion of the RBN401 guarantees a very wide stereo-experience throughout the auditorium.
For full system performance, the CinemarrayTM system is powered and controlled by an ALC Sentinel amplifier loudspeaker controller. Driven by the ALC, the CinemarrayTM system has its own dedicated speaker drive, guaranteeing absolute maximum output and sound quality with utmost reliability and without chance of blown speakers!
The SISTM circuit inside the ALC, together with the SISTM pre-wiring in the CRA30, ensures complete cable and connector resistance compensation, for a system damping factor of a mere 10.000. This significantly increases response accuracy, with tight and accurate mid and bass response regardless of cable length. The SISTM circuit makes position of the amplifier none-critical to ensure best performance.
In order to obtain the best possible coverage in any size theatre, the CRA30 comes in two versions: The CRA30n ("narrow") and the CRA30n ("wide"). Both fitted with the same speaker configuration, the CRA30n has a smaller vertical projection pattern for the seats further away, whereas the CRA30w features a wider vertical coverage pattern for the seats closer to the screen.
The (industry's most) shallow enclosure design of only 35cm/13,7" provides for flexible mounting, claiming only a minimum of space behind the screen.
