MORRISTOWN, N.J. — Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT"), the global leader in digital cinema announced today that leading next generation film studio LIONSGATE will provide movies to digital cinema equipped theatres in the Phase 2 digital cinema program and will pay virtual print fees (VPFs) under a long-term agreement. This agreement follows a May 8th announcement of a similar agreement between Lionsgate and AccessIT for AccessIT’s Phase 1 Digital Cinema Deployment Plan.

With a slate of seven digital cinema releases between now and the end of February, including Punisher: War Zone on December 5, The Spirit on Christmas day, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail on February 20th, as well as its first 3D feature My Bloody Valentine on January 16, Lionsgate will be a major provider of high quality digital cinema features for early Phase 2 customers.

AccessIT’s Digital Cinema division is the industry-leading deployment program for Digital Cinema that provides the funding, installation support and administration for the company's studio-supported Digital Cinema rollout plans. Its Phase 2 plan for up to an additional 10,000 screens will provide networked, turnkey, Digital Cinema systems in conformance with DCI specifications, including AccessIT’s unique Library Management Server® and Theatre Command Center® software. The system will also include digital projectors and JPEG 2000 media servers from a variety of vendors whose equipment is designed to meet the DCI specifications as well as a demanding set of performance and reliability requirements AccessIT developed through its success with the Phase 1 plan.

Lionsgate is the fifth studio to sign a content and VPF agreement for AccessIT’s Phase 2 Digital Cinema Deployment. Others include Disney, Fox, Paramount and Universal.

XDC launched the first Pan-European digital cinema roll-out in 2005, selecting Christie DLP Cinema projectors for deployments across Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland.

- 200 Christie DLP Cinema projectors as part of an exclusive contract with Scrabble Entertainment (SE), launching India’s largest single digital cinema deployment. This was a historic development that finally brought the digital cinema revolution to India.

- 100 Christie DLP Cinema projectors for the Shanghai Film Group (SFG) Corporation’s United Circuit in China. SFG selected Christie exclusively for the initial phase of this growing nationwide deployment plan.

Christie also continues to set the pace of installations internationally, most recently with the major sale of its DLP Cinema projectors for use at the 2008 Beijing Summer Games and eventual installation throughout China. Christie was also part of Canada’s largest digital cinema conversion of 25 theaters across the country for Cineplex Entertainment (TSX:CGX.UN), the country’s leading operator of movie theaters. In the United States, Christie was the exclusive DLP Cinema provider for Warren Theatres’ spectacular new 14-screen multiplex in Moore, Oklahoma. LOS ANGELES - Sony Electronics’ Digital Cinema Solutions and Services group has signed an agreement with Muvico Entertainment that will outfit its existing and new complexes with Sony’s 4K projection technology.

Muvico’s Rosemont, Ill., theater was the first theater in the United States to be fully equipped with Sony’s 4K digital projectors and, following the success of that theater, Muvico made the decision to enter into this agreement with Sony. The rollout begins this winter with the opening of Muvico’s Thousand Oaks, Calif., facility.

The agreement covers existing Muvico theaters, which will be upgraded to the digital technology, as well as new locations that Muvico builds in the future.

In addition to committing to Sony’s 4K projectors for its full conversion to digital, the exhibitor plans to use a range of Sony products in its facilities. These include LCD displays in lobby and concession areas for digital signage, menu boards and full-motion video trailers; as well as VAIO® computers, PlayStationTM gaming systems, security cameras and more.

Muvico, a leader in the theatrical exhibition industry and one of the premier circuits in the U.S., has 13 locations with a total of 248 screens.

“4K technology gives us a solid foundation for converting our chain to digital,” said Mike Whalen, president of Muvico. “It provides our guests with resolution and picture quality never before seen on the big screen.

“It also opens up so many new business opportunities for displaying alternative content in our theaters such as live concerts and sporting events,” he added.

Sony’s DCSS group will work with Muvico on the integration, installation, maintenance and service support for this roll-out, providing the exhibitor with a complete turn-key solution for converting to digital technology.

“Muvico’s vision is that exhibitors need to offer more complete services, and they have been a pioneer in re-defining the movie-going experience,” said Mike Fidler, senior vice president of Sony’s Digital Cinema Solutions and Services group. “They’ve extended their focus far beyond the auditorium and into the lobbies, restaurants, and more, truly turning the movie theater into a digital destination.

“Working with them to further the use of 4K technology, as well as maximize Sony’s product and technology expertise, will simply elevate this experience to an entirely new level,” Fidler said.

The new Thousand Oaks location will feature Muvico’s “Premier Concept” theme, similar to their Boca Raton, Fla. and Rosemont facilities, offering such services as complimentary valet parking, reserved seating, a digital arcade and access to a full-service restaurant and bar for guests 21 years and older.
