SHOWEAST, Orlando (October 14, 2010) - GDC Technology ("GDC"), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce today that Dickinson Theatres has selected GDC's digital cinema servers for its digital cinema conversion. A total of 25 theatres will undergo digital conversion with the installation of 250 GDC digital cinema servers across five Midwestern states.

In addition to GDC, Ballantyne Strong, Inc. will operate as the project integrator, and supply NEC projectors. Cinedigm will provide deployment support, while NEC Financial Services and bankers MacQuarrie International will provide financing.

Founded in 1920, Dickinson Theatres has been entertaining audiences in the American Midwest for over 80 years, operating 367 screens at 37 locations in nine states. With a dedication to serving customers motion-picture excellence by providing quality presentations and superior customer service, Dickinson's Theatres believes the transition to digital is an essential step forward. GDC along with NEC, Cinedigm and Ballantyne Strong expect to successfully complete at least half of the 25 theatre conversions over the next 12 months.

Eddie Murphy will star alongside Ben Stiller in Tower Heist for director Brett Ratner and producer Brian Grazer. Universal is housing the project. The plot follows a group of maintenance workers who take revenge on a scheming Wall Street tycoon who ripped them off.

Murphy recently said that he would be quitting acting, so the casting news comes as a bit of surprise. The comedic actor has been plagued by a couple duds recently, but this latest project seems like a sure thing at the box office.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. and VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) ("the Company"), the leading next generation studio, today emphasized the value creation potential of its proposed merger combination with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM"). The Company filed an Amendment to Schedule 14D-9 with the Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday disclosing that it sent an October 11 proposal to MGM regarding a potential business combination between the two companies. Under the terms of the proposal, the combined company would be owned by shareholders of Lionsgate and creditors of MGM.

"This is a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity to create a dynamic, forward-looking studio that unlocks tremendous potential value for Lionsgate's shareholders and MGM's various stakeholders," said Lionsgate Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer and Vice Chairman Michael Burns. "A Lionsgate merger with MGM is a natural fit that would bring together two of the most powerful libraries in the world, create significant cost savings, consolidate our mutual global channel operations and generate significant incremental revenue and cash flow. It would create a combined entity with enough scale to leverage all of our distribution platforms worldwide."

Lionsgate noted that it believes that its three largest shareholders, Carl Icahn, MHR Fund Management and Capital Research Global Investors, support the merger proposal.
