Rooney Mara has edged her way past a ton of young actresses in order to land the role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Mara's deal includes involvement in two sequels: The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. She joins Daniel Craig and Robin Wright on the project.

The young actress has a supporting role in Fincher's The Social Network, which hits theaters on October 1.
