For the 16th consecutive year, Disney has reached the $1 billion plateau internationally. Prince of Persia's strong performance abroad this weekend helped provide the nudge needed to hit that mark.

Alice in Wonderland was able to gross more than $660 million internationally on its own, making it the biggest contributor to the achievement.

Monday Morning Update: Disney is reporting that Prince of Persia's international gross now stands at $95.5 million, which pushes its worldwide total to $133.3 million.

Sunday Morning Update: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was able to rake in $59 million overseas this weekend, which puts its worldwide cume at $117.7 million.

The Jerry Bruckheimer production was #1 in 41 out of those 47 territories.

The uncertainty of MGM's future has led to a stall on The Hobbit, and now Guillermo del Toro is leaving the director's chair.

"In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming The Hobbit, I am faced with the hardest decision of my life," Guillermo wrote on Lord of the Rings fansite TheOneRing.net. "After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien's Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures."

Hopper leaves behind a strong legacy. Thanks to his wired performances in the likes of Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet, True Romance and Speed, the Oscar-nominated thesp will forever be remembered as one of the most interesting and unpredictable actors.

Hopper recently recorded voice work for Lionsgate's animated flick Alpha and Omega, which is set to open on September 17, 2010.

Hayden Panettiere (I Love You, Beth Cooper) and Rory Culkin are now officially part of the Scream 4 cast.

Emma Roberts, the niece of Julia Roberts, will star opposite Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox in Scream 4. Filming begins at the end of June for an April 15, 2011 release.

Roberts is obviously wasting no time getting away from wholesome flicks such as Hotel for Dogs, Nancy Drew and Valentine's Day in order to move into the adult phase of her career. She'll be seen later this summer in Joel Schumacher's controversial teen drama Twelve.
