On-demand movie service expands independent film library with key distributor partnerships

Grand Rapids, MI - December 3, 2013 - Goodrich Quality Theaters, Inc, plans to break ground on December 9, 2013 for construction of two additional auditoriums at the Bay City 8 in the Bay City Mall. The ground breaking will commence at 1:00pm on Monday December 9th in the back of the Bay City 8, located on the north side of the Bay City Mall at 4101 E. Wilder Rd.
Attendees that will be present at the ground breaking include: Martin Betz, Chief Operating Officer, Goodrich Quality Theaters, Ross Pettinga, Chief Financial Officer of Goodrich Quality Theaters, Reed Simon, Regional Manager, Goodrich Quality Theaters, Jeff Bates, Project Manager, Wolgast Corporation, Barbara Behmlander, Bay City Mall Manager.
Paradigm Design and Wolgast Corporation are contracted for the project which will make the theater a 10-plex, calling it the Bay City 10. The plans will add two new auditoriums that seat nearly 300 each, featuring all stadium seating, premium high back chairs and two giant screens spanning over 50 feet wide and 22 feet tall. Additionally, two current auditoriums, theaters #2 and #4 will also be retrofitted to stadium seating with premium high back chairs.
One of the two new auditoriums in Bay City will feature Dolby Atmos for powerful and dramatic new cinema sound-listening experiences. Discrete speakers will be configured for Dolby Atmos sound to truly envelop you and allow you to hear the whole picture with distinct sounds. The Bay City 10 will be one of only a handful of theaters to feature Dolby Atmos in Michigan, as well as Goodrich's all new Quality 10 GDX theater in Saginaw (to open in January 17, 2014).
"The big screens are going to be a huge wow factor for our customers and we can't wait for them to see it," says Martin Betz, Chief Operating Officer, Goodrich Quality Theaters. "Currently, our new screens will more than triple the size of the current largest screen at the Bay City 8, add that with the breathtaking Dolby Atmos sound, and you will have a sensational moviegoing experience," adds Betz.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the big summer movies.
