He was one of the great film producers of all time. His early years were marked by humble beginnings, as it was for most of his generation. He was a shoeshine boy, a laborer. Those were his jobs, but he would not be defined by his labors. He rose to achieve great success in the movie industry. He produced over forty films and wrote seven novels. Today, his name remains largely forgotten.
