In Australia, Josh (David Wenham, the upcoming “Lord of the Rings”) and Cin (“Welcome to Woop Woop's” Susie Porter) meet at a party and decide to spend the night together at Cin's apartment. Since Josh is returning to London in three days, they plan to share a night of casual sex without any emotional complications. They enjoy themselves so much that Josh stays longer than expected. Cin and Josh become increasingly comfortable with each other. A brief visit by Cin's competitive friend Sam (Catherine McClements) complicates the situation.

Most of the film takes place in Cin's apartment, where the lovemaking is filmed with a physical frankness. The evolving relationship is intercut with comments by Josh, Cin and their acquaintances.

Wenham and Porter have good screen chemistry and create engaging characterizations, but the script by writer/director Jonathan Teplitzky is light but slight and leads to a predictable conclusion. Though initially amusing, “Better” seems drawn out even at less than 90 minutes. Starring David Wenham and Susie Porter. Directed and written by Jonathan Teplitzky.
