One Tough Cop

Bo Dietl (Stephen Baldwin) is a decorated career cop with a gambler for a partner (Chris Penn as Duke Finnerty) and a best friend who's a lieutenant in the mob (Michael McGlone as Ritchie Lacassa). Dietl is a good friend and a clean cop, but a guy with some explaining to do.
Based on former NYPD officer Bo Dietl's autobiography, "One Tough Cop" takes place in 1981 and centers on the vicious rape and mutilation of a nun in an East Harlem convent. Officially excluded from the biggest case of their careers, Bo and Duke can't resist doing some investigating on their own using rather unconventional lines of inquiry.
This is your typical good cop-meets-gangster movie. It holds one's attention, but the plot is predictable, down to the requisite love triangle.    Starring Stephen Baldwin, Michael McGlone, Chris Penn, Paul Guilfoyle and Gina Gershon. Directed by Bruno Barreto. Written by Jeremy Iacone. Produced by Michael and Martin Bregman. A Stratosphere release. Drama. Rated R. Running time: 90 min.
