A reworking of Mark Twain's classic story about town-bound Tom Sawyer and his anarchic pal Huck Finn, this Disney adventure finds the duo stalked by Injun Joe (Eric Schweig) because they're the only ones who know he's committed a murder. At best a modestly effective tale about the friend- ship of two boys who overcome their differences by building on their similarities, "Tom and Huck" sports decent turns by "Man of the House's" Jonathan Taylor Thomas and "The Cure's" Brad Renfro, but it has a "Wonderful World of Color" feel to it that would be less problematic on the small screen.    Starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Brad Renfro. Directed by Peter Hewitt. Written by Stephen Sommers and David Loughery. Produced by Laurence Mark and John Baldecchi. A Buena Vista release. Adventure. Rated PG for some villainous acts and mild language. Running time: 93 min.
