Fox reports that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes took in $3.3 million on Thursday, off 43 percent from the same day last week. The sequel has amassed an impressive $155.7 million domestically in its first two weeks, pacing 32.5 percent ahead of its 2011 predecessor.

Universal's The Purge: Anarchy posted $2.1 million yesterday to give it a one-week sum of $41.4 million. That's about 5 percent behind where the original film stood at the same point in release, although still an overall healthy total for the follow-up.

Disney reports that Planes: Fire and Rescue grossed $2.0 million on Thursday. The animated sequel has tallied $25.8 million in its first seven days, or about 19 percent less than its 2013 predecessor at the same point.

Sony's Sex Tape bagged $1.26 million yesterday, giving it $20.9 million through 7 days of release. Unfortunately, the R-rated comedy is trailing fellow Cameron Diaz-Jason Segel flick Bad Teacher by 54 percent.

Rounding out the top five, Transformers: Age of Extinction posted $0.95 million on Thursday to give it a 46 percent week-to-week drop and a new domestic cume of $231.75 million. The sequel surpassed X-Men: Days of Future Past on Wednesday to become this summer's top grossing film so far. It currently leads Captain America: The Winter Soldier by 1 percent at the same point in release, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon by 30 percent.
