'Non-Stop' Passes $35 Million Domestically on WednesdayMarch 06, 2014 06:00 AM
Universal reports that Non-Stop earned $1.67 million on Wednesday, off 35 percent from Tuesday's haul. The Liam Neeson thriller has banked $35.1 million in its first six days, putting it 22 percent ahead of the pace of 2011's Unknown.
Son of God once again claimed the runner-up position with $1.26 million yesterday. That represented a 30 percent drop from Tuesday and brings the movie's total up to $30.1 million. Son of God continues to perform similarly to Act of Valor.
WB's The LEGO Movie took third as it dropped 37 percent from the previous day and just 20 percent from Wednesday of last week to $0.974 million yesterday. The animated hit has tallied $212.93 million to-date, 18 percent more than The Lorax at the same point in its release.
Meanwhile, Monuments Men rounded out the top four with $0.42 million earned on Wednesday for a week-to-week drop of 41 percent and a new domestic total of $66.985 million.
Last but not least, the Best Picture Oscar winner, 12 Years a Slave, added $132,964 to the bank on Wednesday. That's up about 86 percent from last week and brings the historical drama's tally up to $50.79 million.
